Player’s Edge Tennis School
Competitive & ROG Tennis Clinics
The tennis directors at Player’s Edge Tennis School, Patrick Tran & Marc Assaraf, and their coaching staff would like to welcome you to become a part of our tennis program. At Player’s Edge Tennis, we strive to make players develop an all-around complete game based on coaching methodology from academies in France and Spain.
Our coaches are USPTA and/or PTR certified and have trained junior players ranked regionally and nationally. Many of our players have competed at the college level and a few on the pro tour. We are passionate in introducing the joy of tennis to new players and guide them in establishing sound techniques.
Our clinics are UTR based in order to group and have players train with other players of comparable levels. We keep our students to coach ratio very small to ensure the highest quality of training for players of all levels. The UTR tennis rating system is now used worldwide, for more information go to UTR.
ROG (Red / Orange / Green) Program
The Player’s Edge Tennis program is designed to improve the important components of a child’s tennis experience. We focus on high quality learning and emphasize a small students to coach / assistant ratio.
Our program teaches your child to improve both motor and non-motor skills (movement), as well as coordination, flexibility, agility, strength and how to master space and therefore start to control objects within. In tennis, it is the ball and racquet, but we include a large variety of other equipment such as balloons, ladders, targets etc. In addition to these physical elements, children learn important personal lessons such as self confidence, perseverance and dedication. This truly is an amazing early childhood tennis experience.
A minimum of 8 children per class in order to run a full program or the classes will be combined.
We welcome parents to participate in the program and encourage them to interact with other children in the program.
10s & Under Rec Orange / Red
Introductory course for new players ages 5-10 using Red/Orange balls. Red / orange balls use low-compression balls, smaller racquets and smaller courts that allow beginning to be successful right away on the court and to develop the best habits for the game long-term. We will incorporate USTA and European teaching fundamentals to fully optimize everyone’s ability.
For players who are taking lessons and have an understanding of stroke mechanics. Players are ready to learn to play points and work on ball placement and court positioning.
Competitive Training Program
Our competitive training clinics are geared towards players dedicated in competing at the higher echelon of junior competition. Each session will have a theme to increase a player’s understanding of the game. Players in this program are either ranked nationally, sectionally , or working towards competitive tournament play. We will develop and train players to gain a better understanding of point construction, shot selection, court positioning and mental awareness.
